Frugal april

Oh, April! I am so very glad you are over. Even if I did have a fun camera filled month! I really (REALLY) struggled to finish this months roll and to be honest, finished it late. Yup, May rolled around and I still had a few frames left to shoot on the Holga. Thankfully, by giving myself some grace and kindness I was able to finish the roll and mailed it off to my trusty lab in Alabama. Upon finishing the roll, I figured out where the scratches on my last roll came from! The mask that I used was not smooth on the sides where it’s put into place and caused those scratches on my negatives. Unfortunately, I only realized this after I finished the roll. But nonetheless, I used a nail file (a buffer block, thanks google!) to smooth both sides of the mask and hoping for a better outcome next month!

Thankfully, It looks like the scans came back better this time around! I am so pleased with some of these images and surprised by the contrast of others. Makes me think that changing the tab from the cloudy to the sun setting really makes a difference. I will have to keep a better eye on my settings as I really enjoy the dark contrasty photos better!

Now for the eye candy!

As always, here is a link to my friend Amy’s April project which she shot in Waco, Texas!
